Fibersol Soluble Fiber

Satiety can help consumers focused on weight management

Fibersol’s demonstrated satiety benefits
Fibersol®, a soluble prebiotic dietary fiber, may impact satiety by decreasing hunger, prolonging satiation or increasing satiety signals from the gut.

Also, recent studies have shown that Fibersol can provide an increased feeling of satiety, leaving consumers feeling fuller for longer periods of time. It has been shown that 10g Fibersol with a meal stimulated production of satiety hormones, enhanced satiety and delayed post-meal hunger in healthy adults. Fibersol can also be used to replace sugars that cause a rise in blood glucose following a meal and help consumers maintain sustained energy levels throughout the day.

Not every form of dietary fiber automatically provides a similar result, but Fibersol’s slow fermentation soluble dietary fiber provides both reduced subjective hunger feelings and accompanying increased satiety hormones in the blood. Fibersol will make it easier for formulators to meet the challenge of providing foods that have an effect on satiety to help with weight management.

Fibersol can provide a feeling of fullness, an important component of satiety often desired in weight-loss products. In conjunction with this feeling, Fibersol also has an impact on certain food-intake hormones.

Fibersol, satiety and consumers
The many functional benefits of Fibersol, such as reducing calories and sugar and providing an important impact on satiety, can make it ideal for weight-management products. And because Fibersol is 90% fiber and acid-, heat- and process-stable, it is easy to formulate in beverages and bars—some of the most popular weight-management products.

Fibersol® is included in the FDA’s dietary fiber definition as resistant maltodextrin/dextrin.
