Fibersol-LQ Formulation Calculator FIbersol-LQ

Fibersol®-LQ Formulation Calculator

How to add fiber and formulate with Fibersol®-LQ

This calculator has been built to understand how to incorporate Fibersol®-LQ into an established formulation in order to increase the fiber content of a finished product. Follow the steps below to see how Fibersol®-LQ can be incorporated. All figures have been rounded to ensure the minimum intended fiber content has been met.

All calculations are ultimately the responsibility of the user. Fibersol®-LQ corn syrup, a soluble corn fiber, fiber content is 75% dsb or 56.25% as is.

Step One:

Determine the amount of fiber (in grams ) to be achieved with the addition of Fibersol-LQ in a finished product basis (per serving).
Example

Fiber source claim from content (Good or Excellent Source of Fiber)*
Good
Fibersol-LQ Soluble Corn Fiber Content Dry Solids Basis 75%
Amount of Fibersol-LQ to be used to achieve fiber content (gram weight, dry solids basis)
3.4
Fibersol-LQ Soluble Corn Fiber Content As Is Basis 56.25%
Amount of Fibersol-LQ to be used to achieve fiber content (gram weight, as is basis)
4.2

Step Two:

Determine the serving size, in gram weight, of the final product that Fibersol-LQ is being incorporated.
Example

Insert the serving size in gram weight (as is basis)**
Percent of Fibersol-LQ to be used in formulation (as is basis)
10.5%
* Please refer to CFR Title 21 Database when making claims
** Serving size entered may not be FDA established RACC serving size.
