Fibersol-2 Formulation Calculator

How to add fiber and formulate with Fibersol-2

Fibersol-2 is a soluble dietary fiber. Fibersol-2 is multifunctional and can be used in countless applications. It can be incorporated into all types of beverages, processed foods, cultured dairy products, frozen dairy desserts, confections, dietary supplements and much more. This calculator has been established to help determine how to formulate with Fibersol-2 in order to achieve a specified fiber content.

There are a few key parameters that are needed in order to calculate the use of Fibersol-2 in a formulation. The parameters needed are as follows: amount of fiber to be achieved, serving size of product, and the amount of fiber currently in the product. Input the information into the below cells, and the generated calculations will determine the usage of Fibersol-2 in the formulation. Read the steps below. The following calculation has been established for dry weight basis and as is basis

The following calculation has been established for dry weight basis only.

Step One:

Fiber content to be achieved with the use of Fibersol-2: input gram weight

Fiber source claim from content (Good or Excellent Source of Fiber)*
Good
Fibersol-2 Soluble Corn Fiber Content Dry Solids Basis 90%
Amount of Fibersol-2 to be used to achieve fiber content (gram weight, dry solids basis)
3.2
Fibersol-2 Soluble Corn Fiber Content As Is Basis 90%
Amount of Fibersol-2 to be used to achieve fiber content (gram weight, as is basis)
3.2

Step Two:

Determine the serving size, in gram weight, of the final product that Fibersol-2 is being incorporated.

Insert the serving size in gram weight (as is basis)**
Percent of Fibersol-2 to be used in formulation (as is basis)
6.4%

Step Three:

During baking and other processes, moisture may be lost. If no moisture is lost, then stop at Step 2.

If moisture is lost, enter the percent moisture loss

Percent of Fibersol-2 to be used in formulation (as is basis)
7.19%

Numbers entered into calculator are examples, and may be changed to fit your application.
Amounts given are of the Fibersol-2 product, assuming 90% DB fiber content.
Some variation is possible, and all figures are rounded up to help ensure the minimum intended fiber content.
All calculations are ultimately the responsibility of the user.
